Home Coming Weekend for the Community of Dodgeball

The Pro Sports Management team will run the National Dodgeball Festival May 26-28 2023 at the Peggy Hill Community Centre (formally Holly Rec. Center) in Barrie, Ontario. This National Invitational brings players of all abilities to national dodgeball spotlight. If you attend only one dodgeball event this year, this must be your choice!  This is the largest dodgeball tournament in the world and we expect teams from across Canada, USA and abroad. We have hosted players from multiple countries and hope to see players arrive from all over the world. Stay tuned to our website as we continue to update with new and exciting announcements.

information Overview of the festival

Dates and Times

  • The festival will run May 26-=28, 2023
  • Barrie is 90 km from the Pearson International Airport and Toronto.
  • The festival begins at 12:00pm on Friday and ends on Sunday by 6:00 pm eastern standard time. All teams will begin play on Friday. No Exceptions - Your team should be prepared to play Friday at 12 noon.
  • Entry Fee - 565.00 HST Included - Register Today with a $75.00 deposit
  • Teams play 9-12 matches

Entry Fees / Divisions of Play

  • You can register now for the total 565.00 HST Included - Deposit is 75.00
  • based on 8-9 players per team the cost is just ($55- 70 per player for 3 day tournament
  • We will be taking 36 teams in each division (Men, Women, Mixed Recreational, Mixed Intermediate, Mixed Competitive for a total of 180 teams - We have the ability to expand to 196 teams
  • Register early as this event often sells out   
  • Teams can use 2020 credits for their entry and or deposit. Just send a note to Tim after registering your team requesting your credit from 2020 be applied to 2023.
  • You can also register as a partial team, or free agent.  Free agents are solo players wishing to join a team. You will be contacted with your fee charges and team name

Team Make Up

  • Team sizes range from 6 players to 12 players.  A team size of 8-9 is a good option.   Six players start each game. REMEMBER ONCE THE TOURNAMENT STARTS YOU CANNOT ADD PLAYERS TO YOUR ROSTER. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLAYERS IN CASE OF INJURY. There are no exceptions to this rule for any reason.

Eligibility Overview

  • This is an adult event.  You must be at least 18 years of age to participate on day Underage players are rare but can be eligible. They require special permission from Pro Sports Management. Please send Tim an email with all the player information. Tim@prosportsmanagement.ca
  • In the co-ed divisions, you must start each game with a minimum of 2 females on the court. 
  • Some divisions have eligibility restrictions.  Click on the eligibility link for info on who can play in what division.

General Information Overview

  • Each match is straight timed.  See rules for details.  All matches on all 16 courts start together. Pro Sports prides itself on our ability to run a large schedule on time. Most years we finish just minutes before or after the official end time. We have built in mechanisms to ensure we run on time. 
  • Each team will play 9-12 matches  throughout the weekend.  
  • We follow WDBF rules with a couple minor adjustments.  Click on our rules link for full details. All divisions will follow the same rules.  Captains will receive notifications of any exceptions.
  • All official's have worked as officials in the past. We are always looking for officials to work games in divisions they do not play. Make some extra cash and still play in the tournament without conflict. Apply online.
  •  7" balls will be provided at each game. 
  • Players must wear non-marking indoor shoes for the facility. 
  • Do not wear any jewellery or accessories.  The only eye wear permitted is CSA safety-sport glasses (i.e. squash glasses).  
  • Plan to stow your belongings in your car or in your back pack.  The change rooms will not be locked.  Festival organizers are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • We have a first aid team on site. Please see the Pad Manager in the timing booth if you need assistance to get first aid. If a situation develops that requires further medical attention, you are encouraged to visit the Royal Victoria Hospital at 201 Georgian Drive or call 9-1-1 

Player's Lounge and Swag

  • Players' Lounge  - We are pleased to announce that our players' lounge will be on-site at the game area.  The lounge will include many great features to help you relax between games including the beer garden, vendor food courts, vendor tents, entertainment, table games and more.  Both pads 1-2 in the arenas will have a players lounge in the middle of the six courts. Dominos Pizza, Subway, Labatts, snacks and more will be available at reasonable prices.
  • Swag - We have will have top quality T shirts, hoodies and assorted souvenirs at our vendor area. In 2023 we will have sweat pants, hats, hoodies, T's, and bandanas.
